Easter Update 2

Finally!
The reef project is done and dusted and all that remains is to save the tree project to disc, Tomb Raider here I come!

All in all the project was quite enjoyable apart from the massive idiotic mistake I made using plasticine instead of hardening modelling clay, so the model is finished, however cannot be moved, painted or be in direct sunlight or it will look like Slimer from Ghostbusters.

I found modelling with traditional mediums had good and bad points from the PC counterparts that I’m used to, one being how much I missed the copy, paste, mirror and symmetry tools, however I really enjoyed not running into problems with knowing what I wanted to accomplish but not having the technical know how to be able to complete it, much more instinctive in a word.

The final design came about through looking at medieval professions when stuck details to add to the first idea I had which was some form of large humanoid lion fish and I began to think about Skyrim then cultists of one of the expansions and religious figures.
I didn't feel that the lion fish would fit the bill for this particular role and scoured the internet until I found the moray eel to fit perfectly. It is already quite sinister looking, lurking in the shadows of coral, waiting in ambush.

Below are the final shots of the model and design, plus a few raw images from the camera:
